the Good Game project continues to convey the value of non-violence

The GG-Good Game project started just over two months ago, born from an idea of Aps Medea, with the contribution of the Ministry of Labor and Social Policies in collaboration with the Piedmont Region, to involve the Alexandrian sports world and raise awareness of the issue of gender-based violence. In videogame jargon, GG is a way to compliment the other players for the game just ended; GG, for me.dea, represents, on the other hand, the opportunity to highlight the values of sport which, off the pitch, become the engine of positive and non-violent change.

The partners of the project are: the APS Penelope, Human Art, Alterego and the Sports Departments of the Municipalities of Alessandria and Casale Monferrato.

The following sports clubs adhere to the project: Alessandria Calcio; JBM Junior Basket Monferrato; Alexandria Rugby; ASD Olimpia Solero-Quattordio; X1 Boxing Casale; Yudanshakai Casale asd; Judo Club Casale; Na Ka Ryu Aikido.

The project in this first phase includes activities with the children of the sports clubs.

Already about fifty those met, to whom active workshops were proposed with the theme of strength, respect and responsibility for their actions at the center.

In January, meetings with coaches, managers and parents will also be scheduled, to create a support network around the children, made up of subjects capable of motivating them to be agents of change in their relational modalities.

At the end of the project, in the spring of 2022, a cahier dedicated to the culture of sport as a contrast to violence, a small manual of good practices, will be published.

The creation of a video with local testimonials from the sports world is in the design phase, which allows the project to live beyond its conclusion and become a useful tool for the sports clubs involved in conveying the values of sport and non-violence.

This project part is developed in collaboration with Fuoricampo Film, a collective of Turin filmmakers active for years in the production of short films, video clips and documentaries.

me.dea has already collaborated with them on the occasion of “Cadde la notte su di me”, a 5-minute science fiction short film on gender violence, treated from an unusual perspective, different from the direct approach typical of communication institutional, staging a story in which this theme emerges only at the end.

The project was supported by the Cassa di Risparmio di Torino Foundation and through a crowdfunding campaign that raised 5,000 euros.
The short film premiered last December 16 at the Asti Film Festival and will be screened in other contests in the coming months, so it is not available online at the moment.
