The GEiEG will allocate about 5 million for the new season

The Ordinary General Assembly of Members of the Girona Hiking and Sports Group, GEiEG, validated the economic balance of last year and approved the new budget for the next season 2021-2022 for a value of about 5 million euros, 4,892 .303 euros in particular.

At the event held this week in the multipurpose hall of Sant Narcís, the members gave an account of the current course, which has presented favorable numbers, despite the obstacles generated by the restrictions applied by the Government to slow down the expansion of the Covid- 19. In this way, the group entity can recover the growth trend that was being recorded before the outbreak of the pandemic.

In the Sports Area, the Assembly highlighted the strength of the squad, both in the number of athletes and sections, and placed special emphasis on the high representation of women: of the 2,089 federal records registered in 2021, distributed in the 21 sections that the entity has, more than 45% belong to girls or women athletes, which means a total of 943 athletes.

As part of the event, Francesc Cayuela, President of the GEiEG, highlighted the resilience and adaptability of the entity at one of the most complex moments in its hundred-year history. He praised the efforts to ensure the viability of the club, the dedication of all staff and the trust placed in the members. At the same time, Cayuela vindicated the sporting but also social values that the entity represents, recalling the founding principles of the GEiEG: grassroots sports, amateurism, culture and the city of Girona.
