The canoeist Patricia Coco, the director López Cerrón and the CPLV, among the Valladolid Ciudad Deportiva Awards

As reported by sources from the Municipal Sports Federation of the Valladolid City Council, all the awards will be awarded in an act to be held during the month of January 2022 chaired by the mayor of the city, Óscar Puente.

Given the proposed candidacies, the jury has chosen as the Best Vallisoletano Athlete of 2021 the canoeist Patricia Coco, who last September was proclaimed, along with her partner María Corbera, World champion in the C2 200 meters test.

As Best Manager, the president of the Spanish Cycling Federation José Luis López Cerrón, born in Valladolid, a professional cyclist and linked to the Cadalsa Sport company, organizer of the Tour of Castilla y León, has been chosen.

In the category of Best Sports Entity, the first prize has been awarded to the aforementioned Valladolid Inline Skating Club, which has been proclaimed Champion of Spain in all categories and runner-up in Europe at all male. The second prize has been for CD Handball Delicias, runner-up in Spain in male cadet; and the third, to CD Don Bosco de football for his work in grassroots categories.

The title of Best Valladolid Coach of 2021 has been for Uriel Reguero, coach of several champion athletes of Spain and participants in the Olympic Games.

As the Best Provincial Delegation, the award goes to the Tennis Department for the development of this sport in the city and the organization of the National Amateur Master’s Degree.

The secretary of the Track Cycling Technical Jury at the recent Tokyo Olympic Games, Juan Martín Sanz, has been recognized as Best Referee-Judge; the García Quintana Infant and Primary School, as the best School Center; and the different Spanish Rhythmic Gymnastics Championships, held in Valladolid during the months of June and November, have been recognized as Best Event.

As for the José Luis Morencia Prize awarded by the Valladolid Sports Press Association, José Luis Martín Moratinos has been recognized for “his long career in the world of basketball.”

Absolutely special mentions have been awarded for their good results this year to the VRAC Quesos Entrepinares, the young climber Itziar Martínez; the paddle player Arturo Coello; the U23 springboard gymnast Erika Sanz; the trampoline gymnasts David Franco, Carlos del Ser and Andrés Martínez; and the Olympic judoka Alberto Gaitero; and the Paralympians Marta Arce (judo) and Luis Huerta (swimming).
