The Big Sales: Christian Renier wants to bring new blood to the judo-club

Christian Renier wants members to be able to discuss and contribute their ideas to move the club forward.

17 years ago Christian Renier comes to settle in Big Sales. Native Dieppe, this 43-year-old executive in the industry Arques-la-Bataille has behind him a long past in the associative milieu.

Music in the skin

From the age of eight and this for 30 years, Christian plays the trombone but also the drums within the brass band of Arques-la-Bataille. This music lover was also part of the departmental fanfare of firefighters based in Dieppe, which has a hundred musicians.

Then a few years later, he integrated the harmony of Saint-Vaast-d’Équiqueville where he meets a harmony trumpet player, who will become his wife.

Installed in the Big Sales with his wife, his two daughters and his son, it was following an inter-district meeting proposed by the municipality that Christian joined the council in March 2020 as deputy municipal councilor and joined the animation commission.

Presidential candidate

At the same time, he became involved as a parent in the Grandes-Vente judo club attended by his wife and three children. As part of his elective mandate, in October, he attended the association’s general assembly with Edwige Prévost.

And during this meeting, appears the possibility of putting the club on hold following the difficulties encountered with the Covid epidemic as well as the progressive lack of availability of the president.

“It’s important to share our ideas”

So, at the end of the meeting, following the resignation of the president, and faced with the absence of a declaration of candidacies, Christian Renier volunteered to take over the post.

Elected unanimously, Christian has projects in mind to revitalize the club. “First of all, I want to set up regular office meetings,” says the new president, who is keen on the investment of all members.

It’s important to share our ideas.

For this, he wants to set up a suggestion box allowing parents and children to give their opinion on the life of the club.

“So bring new blood”

And these ideas don’t end there. The new president wants to “relaunch competitions and tournaments as well as sponsorship to manufacture sports bags for children, obtain cups …”.

He already has contacts for that. He is also thinking of “modernizing the club’s accounting through computers”. And among his wishes, Christian launches “a call for candidates to join the office and thus bring new blood”.
