The Bbc Grosseto market continues and hired the receiver Nicholas Fancellu, born in 2004, one of the new prospects of Maremma baseball. The 17-year-old will be the “bullpen catcher” of Jairo Ramos’ team and will try to carve out an important space between the two starting catchers, Sarrocco and Biscontri. Fancellu was champion of Italy under 18 in the 2020 season with the Bsc 1952 team coached by Stefano Cappuccini, demonstrating good skills behind the home plate. The young receiver, who is part of the Bsc recruitment at the park in via Giotto and took his first steps in Junior Grosseto, in 2021 played in Livorno 1948 in Serie B (229 average batting with two doubles, two triples and 5 points beaten at home and with a defense average of 932). Last season he also played in the Under 18 formation with Padule Sesto Fiorentino showing good qualities. The seventeen-year-old from Grosseto participated in the try-outs for the under 18 national team in view of the international commitments of 2022 and entering the Bbc Grosseto is therefore a great opportunity for growth.
Now the red and white club will have to choose the new foreigner, an athlete who will be able to play in all the roles of the infield.
