The Government Delegation in Andalusia celebrates next Thursday, December 16, the XVII edition of the Plaza de España Awards, some recognitions to organizations, institutions and people of the Andalusian community who have stood out in different social, cultural, sports or scientific fields by the compliance, defense and dissemination of the democratic values ​​contained in the Spanish Constitution, which this year commemorates its XLIII anniversary. The gala will take place from 12:30 pm in the CajaSol ​​Foundation auditorium in Seville.

This new edition has 14 recognitions to people, groups, institutions and companies that have stood out in the last year in the Andalusian community for their solidarity, cooperation, social justice and democratic coexistence, in addition to contributing to promoting the ‘Spain brand’ within and outside of our country.

Specifically, the awards from the 17th edition of the awards have gone to the Plataforma Solar de Almería (PSA); Bodegas Barbadillo; the priest Gabriel Delgado posthumously; the athlete Alfonso Cabello; the scientist Pedro José Sánchez Cordón; Carolina Marín, Olympic champion in badminton; the Fire Department of Granada capital on the bicentennial of its creation; the 50th anniversary of the Lady of Baza; the president of Prodiversa, Juan Carlos Espejo; Freepik Company, technology company; Zahara; Valeo Lighting; UGT-Seville and, finally, to the Tablada barracks on its centenary.

The Extinction, Fire Prevention and Rescue Service of Granada this year celebrates the 200th anniversary of its foundation, becoming the oldest fire department in all of Spain and being the forerunner of organized fire fighting services throughout Spain.
