Tennis – ATP’s Christmas present has arrived

Posted

The best of tennis in 2021 has been compiled by ATP. On the program, breathtaking exchanges, back shots to the game and small reels with the arms.

Gaël Monfils had to sacrifice his racket to hope to save the point, but his opponent Diego Schwartzman did not give him a gift in October in Milan. His choice to finish barehanded made the tennis world laugh, but also offered a great moment of sport between the athletes.

If the tennis year was turned upside down by the Covid, the show did not shy away from the courts. In its “Best of” of the year, ATP looks back on the most impressive moments that have taken place in the last 365 days.

Whether they are exploits on lost shots, as Rafael Nadal (0:30) or Christopher O’Connell (1:44) did, Gaël Monfils who decides to continue in the hand without a racket (2: 25) or Novak Djokovic (4:00), winning reverse blows, like Alexander Bublik (0:50), Diego Schwartzman (2:58) or even reflexes defying the limits of reality, like Carlos Alcaraz (3:00 ), all come to treat us and bait us for the year to come.

Special mention for Alex de Minaur (1:00), author of an incredible exchange, punctuated by a reverse shot and small reels made with the arms, as ridiculous as necessary not to touch the net and thus lose the point.

Note also that no Swiss are present in this 2021 selection, while Roger Federer and Stan Wawrinka had accustomed their compatriots to find them regularly in this “Best of”.
