Teddy Riner favorite sports personality of the French

Teddy Riner is still unwavering in the hearts of the French. The judoka is 8th in a ranking dominated by Jean-Jacques Goldman, at the same level as last year. The star of world judo is also the No. 1 athlete for the third year in a row.

A bronze medalist at the last Olympic Games in Tokyo and a team gold medalist, Teddy Riner’s popularity is not waning. The Guadeloupe judoka remains in fact the favorite sportsman of the French. Le Journal du Dimanche published last week its traditional ranking of the favorite personalities of the French.

And for the 3rd year in a row, the tatami star is the only athlete in the top 10 ahead of Zinédine Zidane, who is in decline and goes from 12th to 17th place. Also in front of the young Kylian M’Bappé who is in 19th place.

An honor that the Guadeloupe Judoka, as usual, relishes with great humility. Responding to questions from Gessy Blanquet from Guadeloupe La 1ère, he did not fail to have very specific words for all Guadeloupeans

The survey was carried out by Ifop for the Journal Du Dimanche from December 7 to 10 with a sample of 1,000 people representative of the French population aged 15 and over. 100 personalities were proposed to the people surveyed divided into two parts of 50 names, one male and the other female.
