Stone through a window-driving police bus at Classic: 18-year-old resident of Dordrecht arrested

Police have arrested an 18-year-old resident of Dordrecht for attempted murder. During Feyenoord’s match against Ajax on December 19, he threw a stone through the window of a police bus. The officer who was driving was injured.

After the man from Dordrecht had thrown the stone, the officer lost control of the vehicle. He sustained multiple injuries and had to be treated by paramedics. The officer in the co-driver’s seat was able to just avoid an accident, because he managed to grab the steering wheel.

The police started an investigation to find out who threw the stone and arrested the 18-year-old man from Dordrecht today.

Water cannon and dozens of arrests

The Classic was played without an audience due to the corona measures. Yet it was packed with supporters at De Kuip. When the team buses of Feyenoord and Ajax arrived, a lot of heavy fireworks were set off. That was also thrown at cops. Rioters also pulled stones from the street to throw. In all, 64 people were arrested.
