Steelers outlive the Ravens and change the AFC landscape

One of the fiercest rivalries of recent years delivered another chapter in history. In an agonizing finale, and with a daring wager from John Harbaugh, the Steelers defeated the Ravens by score 20-19.

The game, whose first part was full of speculation taken advantage of by the defenses, broke the zero until the second quarter. The Ravens mounted an offense that began in the first quarter and after traveling 94 yards in 10:27 minutes, Devonta Freeman entered the end zone with a three-yard carry.

Los Steelers they reserved the best for the second quarter and their discount came with a 53-yard field goal by Chris Boswell.

Second half

Baltimore, who came to Heinz Field as favorites, validated their role by separating on the scoreboard with kick from Justin Tucker (35 yards). After the Ravens’ second touchdown on the night, the locals began their way to the comeback with a series that in four plays reached the promised land with 29 yard combination between Ben Roethlisberger ( 21 of 31, 236 yards, two touchdowns) and Diontae Johnson (Extra point missed by Boswell).

Both organizations saved their best football for the fourth quarter. The Ravens took a breath with Tucker’s second kick in the match (28 yards) and Pittsburgh responded the same way (Boswell’s 43-yard FG).

Trailing by one unit, the Steelers achieved their sixth win of the year with the Johnson’s second touchdown reception on the night (rookie Pat Freiermuth’s two-point conversion).

Before Pittsburgh could celebrate victory, Baltimore had one last chance to win. With 1:48 minutes in it, Lamar Jackson (23 of 37, 253 yards, one touchdown, one interception) he led a 65-yard offense that Sammy Watkins capped with a touchdown catch.

With the possibility of a tie on the line, John Harbaugh bet the game on a conversion that despite being well executed, Lamar and Mark Andrews did not finalize.

With his fourth defeat of the campaign, the Ravens break away from first place in the AFC; which is momentarily in the possession of the Patriots and could return to Tennessee at the end of week 13.
