Sports Cuba with 700 national and international events

Havana, Dec 27 (Prensa Latina) .- Cuba will organize more than 700 national and international events in 2022, Agustín Abril, director of programming and organization of the National Institute of Sports (Inder), confirmed today.

2022 could be classified as a year without large global multiple events or “bye”, but without a doubt we will have the possibility and the will to resume dissimilar competitions, which since the emergence of Covid-19 in the country could not be held, April said to the weekly Jit in its digital edition.

Said plan contemplates holding provincial, national and international appointments in order to achieve the optimal preparation of our athletes for the fundamental commitments of 2023, such as the Central American and Pan American Games, he added.

Among these tournaments, he gave an example of the Games of the bodies of the Ministry of the Interior, those of workers and the leaderships at the university level.

Of course, this call also extends to the main competition in the country: the National School Sports Games, scheduled for April, with the development of the Pioneer Cups, which must have foreign participation as always.

In addition, April alluded to the start of the 61st National Baseball Series from January 23, for which the organizers finalize details, and to the realization of traditional international appointments in various disciplines such as boxing, wrestling, judo, athletics, the Triathlon of Havana, among others.

2022 will be the year of the return of sport at home and it is then projected for both 2023 and 2024, when they will dream of the Paris Olympics again, he stressed.
