Serie A2 basketball, the derby between Assigeco and Bakery scheduled for January 2nd has been postponed

The Serie A2 basketball derby between Assigeco and Bakery Piacenza, originally scheduled for Sunday 2 January at Palabanca, has been postponed to the weekend of 15/16 January 2022. This is the last round of the first round. Final date and time of the derby will be communicated later, as soon as the right day is identified, also in relation to the possible concomitant home matches of the Italian Cup of the Gas Sales Bluenergy Volley Piacenza team.

The move of the match vs Bakery Piacenza is a consequence of the decision of the Fip competitive sector to postpone the entire championship day scheduled for Sunday 2 January 2022 to Sunday 16 January, accepting the request of the National Basketball League recommended in light of the numerous cases of positivity to Covid emerged in the last 48 hours, also heavily affecting several Serie A2 clubs, including Assigeco Piacenza.

The provision was necessary to allow in the first days of January 2022 the recovery of the matches not played in the first round (for Assigeco Piacenza the match in Capo d’Orlando) and therefore to define the grid for participation in the next Final Eight. Coppa Italia Lnp scheduled for March.

The rounds of 9 and 16 January 2022, respectively the first and second day of the second round of the A2, will be rescheduled later on the calendar, again in agreement between the LNP and the Fip Agonistic Sector.

As for the Covid19 situation for Assigeco Piacenza, the ten members of the team group, all regularly vaccinated, tested positive for the checks carried out with antigenic swabs, following the health protocols arranged by Ats Milan, undergo tomorrow, Friday 31 December 2021 , to the control with nasopharyngeal swab. In the event of a negative outcome and the consequent conclusion of the mandatory quarantine period, the members of the team group will be able to subsequently carry out the medical examination necessary for the authorization for the resumption of competitive activity.
