Senshu Emmerich: Customs officer and best of the year honored

There are many reasons to celebrate at the Senshu Emmerich budo community, which, despite Corona, is looking forward to 2021 with satisfaction.

The budo community Senshu Emmerich honored its successful judo offspring. For the year 2021, only nine championships and tournaments could be included in the rating. The excitement at the award ceremony was correspondingly high. In recognition of their achievements, each honoree received a trophy and a cinema voucher.

The winners, born in 2013: Cihangir Demirel (two tournament victories / 40 points); Born in 2012: Ines Oumachar (unbeaten / 58 points); Born in 2011: Mustafa Kaan Demirel (two tournament victories, bronze NRW championship U13); Born 2010: Rania Oumachar (bronze NRW championship); Born in 2009: Mia Schipper (123 points, district champion U15, bronze district championship U15, NRW champion U13); Born in 2008: Sally Schwandt (bronze West German championship U15, district champion, bronze district championship); Born in 2006: Jakob Stanislawski (participation in the U18 district championship); Born in 2005: Niklas Arntzen (participation in the West German championship, member of the men’s team, which became vice district champion).

Club chairman Schipper: “We got the best out of the situation”

“In 2022 the battle for the trophies will be even more exciting, as even more children and young people fight for points and titles in the club,” announced the club’s chairman, Emile Schipper. “Overall, the club can look back on a positive year, despite Corona. We got the best out of the situation and took advantage of everything the year had to offer. Increasing membership, good athletic performance, healthy club funds, summer camps and, above all, we were able to give the children and young people a few wonderful moments of happiness. “

Another highlight: Judo trainer Manfred Zöllner was awarded the 5th Dan at the request of the association by the NWDK. With over 36 years of experience as a voluntary board member and trainer, the competition trainer has been training judoka in the youth field of the Budo community Senshu Emmerich since 2018. Since then, athletes have achieved medals at district, district and state level as well as participating in the German championships.


As an active competitor, he himself was successful for 15 years in the 1st and 2nd Judo Bundesliga in the senior division. He continues to celebrate his outstanding competition successes at national and international level in the senior category over 30. The eight-time German champion (age group M5-M7) became European champion in 2017 and 2018 and won six other medals at European championships.

In 2006, 2012 and 2018 he became world champion and won ten other medals at world championships. “His charismatic coaching personality and commitment are very much appreciated by everyone in the club and beyond,” said the Senshu managers. With over 50 years of knowledge as an active judoka, he supports the association’s board in words and deeds.
