Sakura Judo National Csen Champion: triumph of the Perugia club on the Follonica mat

It was an exhilarating weekend, a weekend that smacks of a return to normality, the one that just passed when Sakura Judo Ponte San Giovanni, in Follonica, lived. Two days in which the company of Maestro Roberto Sabatini triumphed at the 36th National Csen Championship. A success that confirms, despite the two years of Covid, the company of Ponte San Giovanni at the national top of the largest Italian promotional body.

Competitions The event, perfectly organized at the PalaGolfo by Maestro Franco Penna, national manager of the Judo sector, and excellently supported by Maestro Roberto Fortunati, saw about 90 clubs arrive in Tuscany, with almost 900 athletes from all over the Peninsula who gave themselves battle during the weekend in the various age categories and with the various gradations of belt (from white to orange / green belt and from blue to black), starting from Esordienti A (Under 12), passing through Esordienti B (Under 14), Cadets (Under 18), Under 23, Seniors (Under 35) and Masters (Over 30). The Sakura, did not spare himself in the two days, and despite not having the complete training, due to last minute absences, and not being the company with the most athletes on the mat, he managed to snatch a really important success, obtaining results and placements in all categories played from twelve to 45 year old masters.

Titles conquered The thirteen individual national titles conquered are decisive, with relative gold medal with Michele Baldassarri, Federico Sabatini, Federica Faraone, Filippo Capoccia, Amona Van Love, Filippo Ricci, Enea Muzi, Paola Ferri, Virginia Brunori, Dante Ceccaroni, Andrei Fernando Amarandi, Sofia Vitali and Giulia Bellucci. Comments Maestro Roberto Sabatini, founder of the company, was absolutely enthusiastic and this time, however, he raised three cups, the first for the fifth position on Saturday (youth categories), the second for the first place on Sunday ( Under 23, Senior and Master) and finally the Csen Absolute Champions Cup (the sum of the two days). “It was an important satisfaction – he comments – we had left with the overall victory in the 35th edition in Riccione in 2019, and we started from there, despite the success during the period of the restrictions on the two online tournaments organized by Csen. we participated, proving that we are always there. A big thank you goes to all the staff of the club, to the guys who didn’t spare themselves, to friends like Cus Perugia, Judo Club Foligno and Città della Pieve, Judo Talenti of Rome and Samer Ascensori and finally to maestro Penna, once again the tireless engine of the Csen.
