Rubio was injured in a loss to New Orleans’ Pelicans on Tuesday, in which the Cleveland team conceded with a score of 104: 108.
The defender was injured two minutes and 20 seconds before the end of the fight, when he left his knee injured without contact and left the field only with the help of his teammates. Rubio closed the match with 27 points, 13 rebounds and nine assists.
The basketball player was examined on Wednesday, as a result of which it was revealed that he had broken the cross ligaments of his left knee.
Rubio had already suffered the same injury to his left knee in his first NBA season in Minnesota’s Timberwolves in 2012.
The Cavaliers, after a weak last season with only 22 victories, have already won 20 matches in 34 matches and are in fifth place at the Eastern Conference.
