RSU loses in the game of the Baltic League elite group

The Latvian basketball team Riga Stradins University (RSU) suffered a loss in Klaipeda on Wednesday in the fight of the elite group of the Baltic Women’s Basketball League (BSBL). RSU gave way to the Klaipeda team “Neptunas” with 71:91 (16:19, 9:17, 17:30, 29:25).

Liza Čumika was the top scorer in the away team with 15 points and eight rebounds. Marta Daniela Leimane scored 14 points, Māra Mote scored 11 points and five rebounds and Alice Bruzinska scored ten points. Ligita Tamutīte stood out in the ranks of “Neptune” with 21 points and six rebounds, but Agne Černeckīte scored 17 points.

“Kibirkštis MRU” is in the leading positions of the tournament table with 11 wins in 12 matches, but in the second place with ten successes in ten games is “TTT Rīga”. In the third position is “Neptunas” with nine victories in ten battles, but “Liepāja” / LSSS with eight wins in 11 matches is fourth. The seventh place is taken by “Riga Stradins University” with five successes in ten games, three places below is “Daugavpils University”, which has managed to get two victories in 11 games, but BJBS “Riga / Juniors” / LU with two victories in ten matches ranks 11th .

12 teams are participating in the Baltic League elite group tournament – five from Latvia and Lithuania, as well as two from Estonia. After the two-lap tournament, the top two teams will qualify for the final four tournament, while the 3rd-6th place finishers in the quarter-finals will see two more Final 4 participants.
