Peru at the 2021 Junior Pan American Games: IPD and COP awarded medalist athletes in Cali-Valle

The Peruvian Sports Institute (IPD) and the Peruvian Olympic Committee (COP) paid tribute this Friday to the athletes who obtained medals in the Junior Pan American Games Cali-Valle 2021International fair where the national delegation achieved 35 medals in total, distributed in 6 gold, 15 silver and 14 bronze medals.

The recognition was carried out at the National Stadium through a ceremony, which was attended by the presidents of the IPD, Gustavo San Martín and the COP, Renzo Manyari. Likewise, most of the 160 athletes who participated in the Junior Pan American Games, which took place in Colombia.

For their part, the athletics and tennis representatives, who are competing in their respective championships in the United States, were not at the event, which did include the participation of the women’s national under 23 volleyball team, which reached the medal silver after a great final with Brazil.

As it is recalled, the Peruvian delegation participated in 30 sports, two of which were collective (volleyball and soccer). Peru showed great ability in all the disciplines that they had to contest and thanks to this they reaped 35 medals, for which they were awarded 12th place in the general classification.
