Even though they made it to the final, Shin Tae Yong still angry about Indonesian National team only eat rice box for AFF Cup 2020 (AFF Cup 2021).
This was conveyed by Shin Tae Yong in an interview with South Korean media, The JongAng, Monday (27/12).
“I’m trying to instill a fighting style in Indonesian football. Unfortunately, in this tournament we only eat boxed rice,” said Shin Tae Yong quoted from The JongAng.
Since arriving on the first day in Singapore, the Indonesian National Team has been angered by the 2020 AFF Cup committee for providing food consumption that does not meet the nutritional needs of players.
At the national team level, the players who participated in the AFF Cup were only given boxed rice accommodation, not eating as usual with a buffet system.
The Indonesian national team coach team protested and criticized the policy of the 2020 AFF Cup committee in Singapore.
The criticism about the food given by the AFF Cup 2020 committee in Singapore was previously made by the assistant coach of the Indonesian national team, Dzenan Radoncic.
Radoncic called the food service of the 2020 AFF Cup committee inhumane.
The provision of food from the committee is considered too little for the players who need to eat in large quantities and sufficient protein. This is related to players needing energy to practice and compete.
The issue of complaints about eating boxed rice was not only raised by the Indonesian national team, but also several other AFF Cup participating countries, one of which was Vietnam.
Vietnam coach Park Hang Seo previously protested that his team only ate boxed rice and no pork in the AFF Cup.
The Indonesian national team has successfully qualified for the 2020 AFF Cup final. In the final match, the Indonesian national team will face Thailand in a two-legged match which will be held at the National Stadium, Singapore, on Wednesday (29/12) and Saturday, January 1, 2022.
