Nick Kyrgios Receives An Invitation To Play In Sydney | ATP Tour

Nick Kyrgios has received an invitation to play the Sydney Tennis Classic, which will be held at Sydney Olympic Park from January 10-15.

The Australian, who will begin his season at the Melbourne Summer Set, has not competed since the Laver Cup in September.

“I’ve been training at home in Canberra and here in Sydney and I’m feeling good after a long break,” Kyrgios said. “I’m looking forward to the moment, thanks to Tennis Australia for the opportunity to play.”

Kyrgios was 7-8 in 2021, reaching the third round at the Australian Open and Wimbledon. The world No. 93 has won one of his six ATP Tour titles at home, conquering Brisbane in 2018.

Other players in the ATP 250 squad are Álex de Miñaur, Kei Nishikori, Cristian Garín, Taylor Fritz, Reilly Opelka and Roberto Bautista Agut.
