NFL: Taysom Hill battered by Cowboys defense in Saints backhand

Taysom Hill was roughed up at quarterback for the New Orleans Saints who suffered a 27-17 loss to the Dallas Cowboys on Thursday.

Hill, who is known for his versatility, was sent by Sean Payton to quarterback. The Cowboys defense was delighted with his presence on the field with four interceptions at his expense.

The knockout blow came late in the fourth quarter as the Saints tried to come close in the score 20-10 behind. Hill threw the ball straight into the hands of lineman Carlos Watkins who crossed over. the 29 yards to the end zone for a touchdown. Jayron Kearse, Damontae Kazee and Trevon Diggs also had an interception in front of the Saints quarterback.

Hill only completed 19 of his 41 passes in the game and even though he threw two touchdown passes, he especially owes his receivers. A good attacking pattern allowed Lil’Jordan Humphrey to find himself late on his own and the middle finger was easy to register.

At the very end of the game, Deonte Harris hit the accelerator to miss tackles and cross the 70 yards separating him from the end zone. Thanks to him, Hill ended his night with 264 passing yards. He also rushed for 101 rushing yards.

For her part, Dak Prescott didn’t need to be spectacular for the Cowboys with 238 yards, a touchdown pass to Michael Gallup and an interception.

With this victory, the Cowboys temporarily extend their lead atop the National East Division with an 8-4 record. The Sains now have the same record as the Carolina Panthers (5-7), last in the South Division of the National. They suffered a fifth straight loss.
