NFL: Christian McCaffrey’s (Panthers) season is over

CHARLOTTE, NC – Running back Christian McCaffrey of the Carolina Panthers will miss the remainder of the season with an ankle injury.

An MRI test revealed the severity of the injury on Monday.

A first-round pick in 2017, McCaffrey was injured in the first half on Sunday in a 33-10 loss to Miami.

McCaffrey sees his season come to an early end for the second year in a row. He didn’t take just three matches in 2020, due to various injuries.

McCaffrey accepted a $ 64 million contract for four years after the 2019 season. That made him the highest paid player in the NFL at his position.

He’s had 442 rushing yards this season with one touchdown.

He also caught a touchdown pass, among 343 receiving yards.

In respite this week, the Panthers (5-7) will then welcome the Atlanta Falcons on December 12.
