NBA: summary of the games of December 29, including the Lakers-Grizzlies duel

Ja Morant had 41 points, Desmond Bane added 20, and the Memphis Grizzlies overcame a 14-point second-half deficit to defeat the Los Angeles Lakers 104-99 on Wednesday.

On the eve of his 37th birthday, LeBron James once again carried the Lakers’ offense, with a harvest of 37 points and 13 rebounds. He had eight three-pointers, which is a personal high this season.

“King James” became the oldest player in NBA history to score at least 30 points in six straight games. The brand was previously owned by his friend, the late Kobe Bryant.

With a third straight win, the Grizzlies increased their record to 22-14, while the Lakers (17-19) lost for the sixth time in their last seven outings.

Booker closes the books for the Suns

Devin Booker handled the Oklahoma City Thunder in a 115-97 victory over the Phoenix Suns.

Dort’s streak ends at 46

The Suns star player ended his night with 38 points which is by far the most productive night for the Suns. Cameron Payne and JaVale McGee follow in this chapter with 16 points each.

Jalen Smith gave himself 11 points and 14 rebounds in the victory while Chris Paul was limited to 10 points, five rebounds and five assists.

In the Thunder, Luguentz Dort had nine points and five rebounds. Dort saw his streak of games with at least one downtown basket curtailed to 46 games.

Ty Jerome stood out with 24 points while Aaron Wiggins had 22 points and eight rebounds.
