NBA, Disney CEO Iger interested in buying the Phoenix Suns

I Phoenix Suns they are experiencing a splendid moment from a purely technical point of view. NBA finalists last season, Booker and Co. resumed their unstoppable path right away. In the night they continued their incredible streak of victories, they arrive at 17 W consecutive, after defeating Curry and the Golden State Warriors.

The managerial situation is quite different: the current owner Robert Sarver is in fact under investigation by the NBA for accusations of racism and misogyny in conduct implemented in the environment of the franchise. For this reason, there have long been rumors of a new property, which it could find in Bob Iger, current CEO of Disney, a very good name.

Do the Suns become Iger’s?

Iger will officially end his role as CEO of Disney later this year, after announcing his resignation in 2020. For 15 years he led the franchise of Mickey Mouse, making billionaire acquisitions such as those of Pixar, Marvel, LucasFilm and many Fox studios, making Disney the colossus that we all know. In fact, ESPN itself, from which the investigation into Sarver began, is owned by Disney itself.

The Suns have a market value of $ 1.8 billion according to Forbes, but they could reach a selling price of as much as 2 $ billion. For this, Iger may need other investors to buy the Suns. A vastly greater amount than the $ 400 million Sarver bought the Suns in 2004 – a symptom of how far the NBA has grown economically and medically.
