The Tourist Office has lifted the veil on MoovoDer, the event that will launch the summer season at Lac du Der from May 20 to 22, 2022.
Called to be renewed, this festival of the lake of Der must be one of the three big meetings of the year with the marathon and the festival of the bicycle. Known for its late season by all nature lovers and particularly ornithology, Lac du Der lacked an event to make it also known during the summer season.
Getting the lake moving in summer
MoovoDer is therefore part of the strategy of the Office and the Der union to renovate its image. “It’s a bit the opposite of what is done in the off-season,” noted Michel Guérin, director of the union and the Office. “Usually at the lake, we look for calm, tranquility, there we will move and highlight all the activities! “
Nautical activities to try
The event should take place from Friday 20 to Sunday 22 May and start in Saint-Dizier. On weekends, the event will be refocused on the lake with two days devoted to the presentation of its many activities with, among other things, open doors to the three marinas, first scuba diving, nautical activities to try such as the giant paddle, catamaran, jet ski, or even radio controlled sail. A boat show should also take place to present news from the boat market. Land activities will not be outdone: archery, handball, climbing, roller hockey. Concerts are also planned as well as a sound and light show on the lake on Saturday evening with also a parade of illuminated boats.
All stakeholders in lake tourism have responded, assures Michel Guérin. “It’s our role to put them in a network to get together and show that we are strong. They want to take a new step. The lake must be identified as a site where one can spend his vacations, be active, on the water and all around it. “
An envelope of 100,000 euros is dedicated to the event. The program is not yet fully fixed. It should be established in January. But the office announces that all activities will be offered free of charge with a few exceptions (especially surfing).
