Monica Puig, with a new coach thinking about the return to the circuit

Monica Puig (currently without a WTA ranking) continues with her preparation to return to the circuit after more than a year of inactivity. The Puerto Rican, after three surgeries, announced her new coach and announced when she hopes to compete again.

“I feel very good. I feel like my shoulder is progressing and gaining strength. I don’t feel so weak. I raced with normal balls and it went very well for me. I had no pain and that is very positive in my recovery. You don’t want to feel pain and we’re on the right track, “the winner of the gold medal at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games told the newspaper El Vocero de Puerto Rico.

Regarding his return date, he stated: “I still do not have a date indicated, but I am trying to return for the date of tournaments in Europe”, leaving the door open to return in the second quarter of 2022.

Finally, her new coach will be Dorian Descloix (he announced it himself through his official twitter account) who worked with Victoria Azarenka during 2020 and 2021. Along with him, the Belarusian won the WTA 1000 in Cincinnati 2020 and was a finalist in the US Open of the same year.
