Résumé :

Two fighters, or two female fighters, face to face, in a cage. Punches, kicks, knees, elbows and kicks on the ground are allowed. Then comes the victory by knockout, or the decision of the judges to stop the fight to protect the “integrity” of the dominated.

This sport is called MMA, an English acronym which means in French “Mixed Martial Arts”. In the European Union, France was the last country to ban it professionally, while this practice is increasingly popular and has 30 to 50,000 followers. In June, the Minister of Sports, Roxana Maracineanu promised her recognition from January 1, 2020.

To discover this sport, and understand what this legalization will change, Clawdia Prolongeau went to the MMA Factory in Paris. Reporting.
