The Premier of Quebec François Legault does not intend to participate in the financing of a baseball stadium in Montreal.
The daily Press revealed Tuesday that Stephen Bronfman would have requested a subsidy of several hundred million dollars from the government of Quebec for his project to build a new stadium.
Questioned by Gabriel Nadeau-Dubois in the National Assembly, Prime Minister Legault wanted to be clear about his government’s position.
“Mr. President, me, my steamed in baseball, i like it all dressed, ketchup, but no public money. Can the Prime Minister rise in this chamber and clearly tell Quebec families that he will not put a cent of their money in Stephen Braufman’s private stadium? »Asked Nadeau-Dubois.
“Contrary to what the leader of Québec Solidaire says, there is no question of our government putting a penny from the taxpayers in this,” said the Prime Minister.
