Seattle Mariners third baseman Kyle Seager has indicated he is retiring.
He made the announcement on Wednesday in a post shared by his wife Julie on social media.
“Thank you to all my family, friends and fans for following me throughout my career. It was an incredible adventure, but I am terribly excited for the next chapter of my life, ”he said.
The 34-year-old Seager played all 11 seasons of his Majors career in the Mariners uniform. He notably won a Golden Glove for the 2014 season.
He had a personal high of 35 home runs and 101 RBIs in his last campaign. In 1,480 games, he batted .251 with 242 homers and 807 RBIs.
