Michele Valeri third in the national championships

Bronze arrives for Michele Valeri: third place in the absolute Italian judo championship, in the -90 kg category. The Gattinarese won the bronze medal at the end of the tricolor event that was staged at the Federation’s Olympic Center, located in Ostia. With him on the third step of the podium Ermes Tosolini, while the title went to Gennaro Pirelli and the silver to Tommaso Fava.

The society

Valeri, born and raised in the ranks of Judo Gattinara, currently defends the colors of Crs Akiyama Settimo Torinese, where he is followed by coach Pierangelo Toniolo. The Italian championship was also the return to racing for the young Gattinarese, who after the silver medal won at the Alpe Adria Grand Prix almost two years ago (it was February 26, 2020) had to stop due to a shoulder injury.

Return to the race

Recovered and put back in shape, Valeri worked with his head down to get back on track and the third place in the tricolor review rewards his efforts. But that’s just a good starting point, given that in the near future the intention is to aim even higher.
