Mexico wins a silver medal in table tennis at the Junior Pan American Games

Mexico won the silver medal in the women’s team category, at the conclusion of the table tennis activity of the Junior Pan American Games, at the Coliseo Blanco Multifuncional 1, in Palmira-Valle.

And it is that the couple made up of the Mexicans Arantxa Cossio and Clio Bárcenas lost 3-1 against the Brazilians Laura Watanabe and Giulia Takahashi, in a duel in which the individual matches decided the result

In the first match, which was the most contested, Cossio won the first set 13-11, but fell 11-9, 11-8 and 11-9. In the last heat, Watanabe achieved seven of the last nine points contested.

Later, Clio faced Giulia and was beaten in three sets: 11-3, 11-6 and 11-7; the doubles went to Mexico in four sets with digits of 11-8, 7-11, 13-11, 11-9. To finish, Takahashi accounted for 11-8, 5-11, 11-9 and 11-6 for Arantxa.
