It is not enough with an award, Messi will always go for more. Next Tuesday, December 14, the 2021 edition of the award given by the Círculo de Periodistas Deportivos will be held, in which the most outstanding Argentine athletes throughout the year are distinguished.

Along with Rodrigo De Paul and Emiliano Martínez, La Pulga will compete for the award in the soccer shortlist. But they will not be alone, since there will be more prizes in different shortlists, as well as the Olimpia de Oro.

Due to the health situation that occurred as a result of the COVID pandemic, in 2020 they were not held, so there will be a special distinction for last year’s winner, which will be revealed the same night that this year’s awards are held.

There will be 53 different disciplines and it should be noted that, In its beginnings, the award was given only to the most outstanding Argentine athlete of each year. However, everything changed after 1970, so the Silver Olympia began to be awarded in each discipline and the Golden Olympia to the athlete of the year.
