Mavericks helps Mavericks win over Trail Blazers | The news

Portland (USA), Dec. 28, LETA. Latvian basketball player Kristaps Porziņģis scored 34 points in the match of the National Basketball Association (NBA) regular championship on Monday, reaching the record of this season and helping his Dallas “Mavericks” team to win.

The Dallas unit beat Portland’s Trail Blazers by a score of 132: 117 (34:29, 38:24, 34:31, 26:33).

Porziņģis scored 34 points in 32 minutes and 29 seconds on the court, taking nine of 14 two-point shots, three of seven long shots and seven of nine free throws. He added nine rebounds, five assists, two interceptions, two block throws, two personal notes and a +/- score of 19.

Due to both teams, the players included in the Covid-19 security protocol had serious deficiencies. The Mavericks had to do without six players, including Luca Donchic, while the Portland team could not be helped by seven players and head coach Chonsiy Bilaps.

“We scored almost 70 points close to the basket tonight,” Dallas team head coach Jason Kids said after the match. “I think that [Porziņģis] allowed the ball to find itself today, he did nothing. If he was not covered in two, he scored points, if he was covered, he found a free partner [kam piespēlēt].”

“He played a great game from start to finish,” Kids praised the Latvian basketball player.

“He is an All Star player who played at a very high level tonight,” Trail Blazers coach Scott Brooks echoed.

Dwight Powell, who scored 22 points, also played the most productive game of the season for the Mavericks, while Damian Lilard stood out with 26 points.

The Mavericks are in seventh place in the Western Conference with 16 wins and 17 losses, while Trail Blazers are in 11th place with 13 successes in 33 matches.

The Dallas unit will play the next game on Wednesday, meeting with the “Sacramento Kings”.
