Marcell Jansen is no longer chairman of the supervisory board

Marcell Jansen is no longer Chairman of the Supervisory Board at Hamburger SV. The ex-professional has resigned from his position. The sports club announced on Tuesday.

This is a surprise for the second division club Hamburger SV. Marcell Jansen will no longer lead the board of directors. The 36-year-old announced his resignation at the annual general meeting. Jansen had been the boss of the supervisory board since March 29, 2020.

The former national player himself proposed to hand over his position to Doctor Thomas Wüstefeld.

“HSV can only function as a team and must never become a ‘one-man-show’. With Thomas Wüstefeld, we have excellently filled the position of chairman of the supervisory board with entrepreneurial experience, network and HSV heart,” said Jansen, who is still president is.

The medical entrepreneur Wüstefeld acquired around five percent of the shares in Hamburger SV Fußball AG from investor Klaus-Michael Kühne just a few weeks ago.
