The city of Vitoria hosted the penultimate round of the 2021 badminton season with representation from CBP Ordoño II León players achieving great results. The regional competition was held for the U-15, U-19 and Senior categories and in all of them our players got medals.
In the senior category the three gold medals were achieved, where Beatriz García won two of them, in mixed doubles B2 pairing with Roberto García and in female doubles B2 with Eva Canal. The other gold medal was won by María Galán and Javier Pérez in the C1 mixed doubles modality. In this same category, Eva Canal and Juan Carlos Blanco took the silver medal. The other two medals obtained in the senior category went to Roberto García, in the men’s individual C1, and to Juan Carlos Blanco, in the men’s individual C2. Great results for our group of senior players, as all of our participating players managed to take at least one medal home.
In the sub-15 category, Pablo García was the player who achieved two medals, a silver in men’s doubles with Marco García and a bronze in men’s singles. The other two medals were achieved in the U19 category. Andrés Pérez along with his partner Daniela Corchón (CB Soria) achieved a great silver medal in mixed doubles under 19 (both players are still under 15). Also great bronze medal in mixed doubles under-19 achieved by sisters Laura Alonso and Nuria Alonso who also still belong to the under-15 and under-17 categories respectively. Hugo Pérez also participated in the sub-19, achieving two 5th places in men’s singles and men’s doubles.
Next week the season will come to an end with the last two competitions with Leonese representation in Medina del Campo. On Saturday Marcos Revilla will participate in the absolute test and on Sunday a wide representation of players from lower categories will participate in the same town.
