Premier LeagueLeicester City have put Liverpool a firm heel in the title fight. The Reds lost 1-0 at the King Power Stadium and see Man City take six points. Youri Tielemans started on the bench, but came between the lines just before the hour.
Youri Tielemans had an extremely unfortunate performance against Man City last Sunday. The Red Devil caused two penalties and thus formed the basis of the 6-3 defeat. Manager Brendan Rodgers therefore chose to have his midfielder start on the bench against Liverpool.
Liverpool claimed the lion’s share of possession in the King Power Stadium and also created opportunities. After fifteen minutes there was even an opportunity from the spot after a foul by Ndidi on Salah, but the Egyptian aimed the eleven meter at Schmeichel. In the recap, Salah also hit the crossbar – not his night. At halftime, the glasses score was still on the board.

Tielemans brings happiness
Fifteen minutes after the break, Rodgers threw Tielemans into the fray. And that brought luck, because our compatriot had only just got on the field when Lookman made it 1-0 after a great effort and ditto shot into the short corner. Liverpool had to and went looking for the equalizer, but the Reds couldn’t get past a strong goalkeeping Schmeichel.
Due to the defeat, Liverpool are now six points behind leaders Man City. December once again seems to be separating the wheat from the chaff in the Premier League.
