Lakers fans intrigued by the idea of a trade for Evan Fournier

New York Knicks (DR) / Los Angeles Lakers (DR)

If they do not find the path to victory quickly, the Lakers will have to think about blowing up this workforce lacking chemistry. A journalist has for example evoked a possible arrival of Evan Fournier in the next few months, and fans were more than intrigued by the idea.

The Lakers are in a situation that is starting to become of concern. Indeed, despite his 37 years, LeBron James is forced to give everything on the field, to chain games to more than 30 points, and yet, this does not translate into victories. Anthony Davis’ injury may explain this crisis of results, but the hurt seems to run deeper. In fact, in the course of its errors, the place of Russell Westbrook seems to be increasingly in danger.

This Wednesday against the Grizzlies, it was for example the author of a big mistake in the last few seconds, thus costing the victory to the Lakers yet in need of reassurance. Well aware of the leader’s integration problems, journalist Bill Simmons mentioned a potential exchange in his latest podcast. He used a concrete example to show how difficult it will be to find a buyer for Los Angeles, and mentioned Evan Fournier.

Evan Fournier in Los Angeles? The intrigued fans

If the history of the NBA has taught us anything, it’s that anyone can be traded. But I don’t think a trade is possible for Russell Westbrook. Every conceivable trade would make the Lakers even worse. The Lakers could talk to the Knicks for Evan Fournier, Kemba Walker and Nerlens Noel, obviously, but would they come out better? No.

According to Bill Simmons, the Lakers will never get a player of Russell Westbrook’s caliber in a trade, which will make negotiations impossible in the coming weeks… He cites for example a package including Kemba Walker, Evan Fournier and Nerlens Noel, all more or less disappointing in New York. But contrary to the journalist’s analysis, fans were quickly intrigued on social networks. For them, the Purple and Gold would progress considerably with the French!

Getting back two players who can shoot and dribble, and a good circle protector who would immediately become the team’s best pivot, since Anthony Davis wants to play 4, is actually a bad thing.

I think this proposal helps the Lakers a lot lol

Evan Fournier and Kemba Walker might like each other in Los Angeles, and Lakers fans don’t seem to be totally closed to the idea. Despite a complicated start in New York, the Frenchman keeps a good popularity rating in the collective unconscious.
