John Terry returns to Chelsea and joins the youth academy | Premier League

John Terry returns to Chelsea. The former defender wants to bring to the youth the experience gained during his 20-year playing career at Chelsea and his recent stint as an assistant at Aston Villa.

He joins the club part-time and is given a diverse range of duties. He will be on the field as a youth coach, but will also participate in discussions with the youth coaches, he will guide youth players and talk to parents of youth players.

Terry arrived at Stamford Bridge in 1995 as a 14-year-old boy. He would remain there for almost his entire playing career and make 717 appearances in the first team. He was captain for more than 500 games. Terry won five league titles and the Champions League with the Blues.

The defender concluded his playing career with Aston Villa in the 2017-2018 season. He then went on to become an Aston Villa assistant under head coach Dean Smith. Last summer he left the club after three seasons as T2.
