James Harden helps Houston Rockets set new NBA record

A key player for the Brooklyn Nets, James Harden is one of the NBA’s most important players. Fans often refer to him by his nickname, “The Beard”. The 32-year-old is a formidable line-up alongside Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving. He joined the Nets from the Houston Rockets and surprisingly helped them set a record despite an NBA game against them.

Harden and the Nets faced the Rockets recently. However, they had a disappointing night in store for them as Harden and his franchise helped the Rockets set a unique NBA record. The Rockets have now won seven straight games straight from a 15-game losing streak.

ESPN posted much the same on Twitter where it received considerable attention as the Nets lost to the Rockets. The Rockets’ current record for the season is 8-16. This rare statistic makes them the first NBA team in history to have a 15-game losing streak and a 7-game winning streak in the same season.

Harden played for the Rockets between 2012 and 2021. He had some of his best seasons with the Rockets. The NBA awarded him the “Most Valuable Player” award in 2018 while he was with the Houston team. The nine-time NBA All-Star also received his first All-Star Call in 2013.

He began his NBA career in 2009 as a third overall pick in the 2009 NBA Draft by the Oklahoma City Thunder. The Thunder traded him to the Rockets on Oct. 27, 2012, after a disagreement over a contract extension. The Nets acquired Harden on January 14, 2021.

The Houston Rockets drove past a dismal Brooklyn Nets at Toyota Center. The Nets are number one in the Eastern Conference with a 17-8 record for the season. James Harden played against the Rockets in Houston for the second time since leaving the franchise in January. The Nets rested NBA top scorer Kevin Durant for the game.

In Durant’s absence, Harden led the Nets by scoring 25 points while Cameron Thomas scored 18. Eric Gordon scored 21 points for the Rockets while Garrison Mathews added 19 points. The Rockets will next face the Milwaukee Bucks while the Nets visit the Atlanta Hawks in an away game.
