It is worth a Peru! Sofía Mamani wins the first gold medal for Peru

Gold for Peru. The Peruvian delegation adds its first gold medal at the Cali 2021 Junior Pan American Games, the athlete Sofía Mamani won the 10,000 meter dash competition.

The winner of the first gold medal achieved a time of 34: 43.80 and beat the Mexican María de Jesús Ruiz and the Brazilian María Da Silva.

The 19-year-old athlete is a native of Puno and the daughter of athletes Wilma Arizapana and Miguel Mamani. For being the champion in this test, Mamani won a place in the Pan American Games in Santiago 2023.

After winning the test, Sofía Mamani showed her excitement to win the first gold medal for the country. “I am very happy and very grateful to my parents who supported me all this time. When I crossed the finish line I thought first of my parents and that I improved my brand. I am very grateful to all of Peru for the support they always give me ”.
