ING Basketball Super League Panorama (11): Pınar Karşıyaka defeated Galatasaray NEF and Anadolu Efes Bahçeşehir College in the opening and closing matches of the week, which witnessed great excitement

The 11th week of the ING Basketball Super League (BSL) has passed.

Fenerbahce Beko continued its leadership

Leader Fenerbahçe Beko defeated HDI Sigorta Afyon Municipality 100-51, hosted by Ülker Sports and Event Hall. In the match where Ahmet Düverioğlu had a double-double with 21 points and 11 rebounds, İsmet Akpınar had 11 points and 7 assists in the 17 minutes he was on the court.

The opening match of the week, Pınar Karşıyaka – Galatasaray NEF match and the closing match Anadolu Efes – Bahçeşehir College witnessed great excitement. Pınar Karşıyaka defeated Galatasaray NEF 73-67 in İzmir and regained the third place seat that she lost last week. Bonzie Colson, who played with 19 points, 12 rebounds, and Kerry Blackshear, who played with 21 points, 7 rebounds and 3 blocks, were the most prominent names from both teams.

Anadolu Efes defeated Bahçeşehir College 95-88 in the match in which they played the second consecutive overtime period after the match against Barcelona in the EuroLeague. Anadolu Efes’ Vasilije Micic – Shane Larkin duo recorded a total of 41 points, while Tibor Pleiss had a double-double with 11 points and 13 rebounds. The performance of the short duo of Jamar Smith and Langston Hall, who returned from the edge of the triple-double with 19 points, 9 rebounds and 9 assists in Bahçeşehir College, was not enough to prevent the defeat.

Following these results, Fenerbahçe Beko, Anadolu Efes, Pınar Karşıyaka and Galatasaray NEF were in the first four places in BSL, respectively.

Darüşşafaka and Tofaş are the winners of the last ball games.

In the 2021-22 season, we witnessed the excitement of the last ball match in the Basketball Super League. This week, Darüşşafaka managed to beat Gaziantep 71-69 at Karataş Şahinbey Sports Hall, and with this result, Selçuk Ernak’s students equalized the number of victories (7) with one match less. While the Quentin Peterson – Jarmar Gulley duo scored 45 of 69 points in Gaziantep, Doğuş Özdemiroğlu once again led the team with 11 points, 6 rebounds, 9 assists, 3 steals in Darüşşafaka, where four names had doubled.

Tofaş won 83-82 against Beşiktaş Icrypex at the Akatlar Sports and Culture Complex. With 10 turnovers and 22 assists, Tofaş hit 11/20 three-pointers and made two-for-two under Ahmet Çakı. Egehan Arna scored 20 points, 6 rebounds and Rondae Hollis-Jefferson stood out with 19 points in Beşiktaş Icrypex.

After parting ways with Burak Gören, Türk Telekom played the Yukatel Merkezefendi Municipality match under the management of coach Candost Volkan and won the match in Ankara 94-72. Tyler Ennis had 17 points and 5 assists for Türk Telekom. In the other two games of the 11th week, Frutti Extra Bursaspor defeated Aliağa Petkim 81-75, Semt77 Yalovaspor defeated Büyükçekmece 80-68. Onuralp Bitim and Egemen Güven duo scored a total of 30 points in Bursaspor.

Local player of the week

In the 11th week of BSL, two of our national basketball players played an important role in the victory of Beşiktaş Icrypex on behalf of their teams: Berk Uğurlu and Muhsin Yaşar. Berk Uğurlu scored 13 points, 6 assists, Muhsin Yaşar struggled with 15 points and 5 rebounds in Tofaş, where ball sharing was reflected in the statistics for two matches. In addition, the basket that brought the victory to Tofaş was realized with the production of these two.
