“I worked on this this summer”

The San Antonio Spurs’ victory over the Golden State Warriors (112-107) is partly linked to the good performance of Keldon Johnson. Author of 15 points and 7 rebounds at 6/13 including 2/5 at 3PTS. This last compartment, the three-point shooting, is the one on which Johnson has improved the most compared to last year. He is one of the most skillful players on his team behind the arc with 41% over the season, a clear improvement from his 33.1% last season. Likewise, his number of points has also increased, from 12.8 to 14.9 points per game.

“I worked on this this summer, I spent hours shooting,” said Keldon Johnson

This progression is a boon for San Antonio. Indeed, the 22-year-old winger had a difficult start to the season with a horrific 2 of 17 three-point in October before coming back in force with a handsome 19 of 35 behind the arc during the month of November. His game against the Warriors (2 of 5 at three points) announces good things for the month of December. Johnson takes advantage of the defenses focusing on his drive for three-point artillery.

“It’s all about easy shots, good circulation of the ball and playing for each other,” Johnson said. “This is when we get shots in the rhythm because the ball is circulating well.” Keldon johnson

Johnson suspects the defenses will adapt to his new three-point weapon and is already preparing for it.

“I just have to keep staying focused and take what the defense gives me,” Johnson confessed. “I must not force anything”.

To stay motivated, Johnson revealed his goal for the three-point shot.

“I’m going to catch up with Steph Curry,” Johnson said with a smile.
