HUELVA, Dec. 3 (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Andrés Estrada Municipal Sports Center will host next Thursday, December 9, from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., the IV Badminton Solidarity Tournament ‘A toy for badminton’. An initiative promoted by the IES La Orden Badminton Recreative Club that has the support of the Huelva City Council and the Atlantic Copper Foundation, so that Huelva families with fewer economic resources can have Kings toys for their sons and daughters.

The Councilor for Citizen Participation and Sports, María Teresa Flores, highlighted “the joy of retaking this beautiful event coinciding with such an important moment in the city, in which badminton is the main protagonist with the Senior World Cup and at the gates of the Absolute, which will make it possible to combine sport and solidarity again, so that no child in Huelva is left without their gift on January 6, “according to the City Council in a press release.

For this reason, the Consistory calls on Huelva families to “demonstrate once again their solidarity side” and support the fourth edition of this Christmas tournament with their attendance, contributing a kilo of food, which will go to the Bank of Food, or a new or used toy, but that is in good condition, that through the City of Children will be able to reach the most needy families.

As the president of the IES La Orden Badminton Recreational Club, María Eugenia Lorenzo, who has been accompanied by the sports director of this Huelva club, Francisco Ojeda, has indicated, “it is one of the tournaments that makes us most excited because there are no losers. There are only winners, the children have a great time playing badminton and something as important as food and toys can be distributed to those who need it the most. “

For his part, the director of the Atlantic Copper Foundation, Antonio de la Vega, has valued that “Huelva is badminton and Huelva is also solidarity”, so it is a tournament that “offers many satisfactions” and for him who hope to have “the support of the citizens”, since “it is not necessary to be an expert and it can be a magnificent opportunity to get started in this sport”.

Thus, to participate in this Tournament, no prior registration or prior knowledge of the practice of badminton is required. It is only necessary to go to Andrés Estrada on the 9th and register there to “enjoy this great festival of badminton and solidarity as a family”, in which all participants will also receive a commemorative shirt and a medal.

In addition to the matches, during the event there will be numerous activities for children and youth entertainment, including numerous games and proposals for attendees to “enjoy and have fun” between matches.

For all this, the Huelva City Council and Atlantic Copper have wanted to reaffirm their support for Recreativo IES La Orden, a club that “since its foundation has shown that its objectives go beyond being in the elite and achieving the best sports results, showing throughout his career his firm commitment to promoting solidarity actions in the city as important as ‘A toy for badminton’ “.
