With an explosive offensive of 18 hits, the cats of the capital crushed the Artemisa Hunters in the Changa Mederos grounds with a final score of 19-1, in a challenge agreed to 10 innings.

Guillermo Carmona brought out his best figures available on this day and they did not disappoint him, by taking fire from the bats to keep his rivals without making “the cross” in the six stops they have made to date.

Alberto Calderón lit the tree by shooting single, double and triple, with three RBIs, Yovani Peñalver went 3-2 with a double included and a pair of trailers, “Torito” Barcelán brought two home with a hit in four at-bats, and Joasan Guillén (3-2) disappeared the ball with empty pillows.

Among the substitutes, Yamil Rivalta of 3-3 and Roberto Acevedo of 1-1 stood out, both with three RBIs per capita.

The tall Pavel Hernandez pitched the first four innings at a rate of seven strikeouts and four walks with three hits allowed, and kept the plate doors tightly shut.

The only score for the visitors from Artemis came in the fifth inning when they combined a walk from left-hander Moisés Palacio, with a Deiving Hernández tubey and a rolata from Carlos de la Tejera’s box.

Elian Moreno took the loss among a parade of seven pitchers who all conceded a total of 12 walks.

This Wednesday the Industrialists will face the Hurricanes of Mayabeque in the same capital stadium.
