Galicia dominates the medal table of the Spanish Championship

Galicia was established yesterday as the great dominator among all the autonomies that attended the Spanish Judo Championship, which was played in Madrid. The Galician team hung eight medals, six of them gold, to show their dominance on the national scene. Those half a dozen titles – along with two silvers – left him at the top of the medal table.

The Vigo Famu participated in the party hand in hand with two safe values. Nikoloz Sherazadishivili and Laura Vázquez did not fail and were proclaimed champions of Spain in their respective weights. The current world champion was unrivaled at -100 kilos and took the victory after beating Andalusian Pedro Pablo González in the final. For her part, the young woman from Vigo won gold at -63 against Cristina Cabana from Extremadura and confirmed that her meteoric growth also makes her win in the senior category.

Galicia completed its fantastic performance in the state capital with four more national championships. Alberto Gaitero was proclaimed champion of Spain in -73 kilos, David García Torné in -66, Tristan Mosakhishvili in -90 and Estrella López Sheriff in -52. In addition, Laura Martínez hung the silver medal in the -48 kilos competition -he gave in to the Valencian Mireia Lapuerta- and Álex Sanmartín did it in +100 kilos -he fell before the also Valencian Irinel Vasile Chelaru-.
