Gabriel puts to flight an attacker who followed him to his home

A video of Gabriel, a former Lille defender now at Arsenal, has leaked in which the player puts to flight an attacker who threatened him with a baseball bat after having followed him home to try to steal his luxury car in last august.

As he gets out of his car that he has just parked in his garage, Gabriel (23) takes a step back, then raises his hands. The scene is filmed by video surveillance cameras placed at the Arsenal player and broadcast by the Daily Mail, this Wednesday. It dates back to last August and shows two masked men threatening the player and his friend.

One of them wears a baseball bat and demands that the Arsenal defender give him the keys to his luxury car, but also his watch. Gabriel did so before his attacker pounced on him on another streak. But the former Lille manages to defend himself by striking him in the face and holding him by the sleeve.

A gesture that allows the thug and his accomplice to flee. A third man had remained posted in front of the automatic gate gates to keep them open. The scene took place last August and the man with the baseball bat was identified thanks to his DNA found on a hat lost during his tussle with the Gunners.

He received a five-year prison sentence last month. “No injuries were sustained, but a great shock was caused,” said the prosecutor. They chose two victims who were very fit and able to take care of themselves. Gabriel would not have been attacked because of his quality of footballer but because he appeared rich. This scene of aggression recalls that experienced in 2019 by Sead Kolasinac and Mesuit Özil, attacked by two men in front of their home. The first named had put them to flight during a fight that had marked the spirits.
