After placing the Ensenada insignia on them, the mayor said that it is a pride to have athletes committed to bearing the name of the city at the national level, both for obtaining the championship and for bringing the final of the Pacific Basketball Circuit (Cibapac) to the port. ).


He congratulated Lewis Lasalle Taylor, Lobos coach and Erick Barraza, Lobos manager, as well as all members of the basketball team for their tireless work and struggle to have a professional basketball team.

“From seeking this Municipal Government, to obtaining the necessary investment to promote this sport and for the Oscar” Tigre “García Gymnasium to be the official home of Lobos after the facilities had been improved,” said Armando Ayala.

For his part, Erick Barraza, director of Ensenada Lobos, highlighted that this project was born in 2018 after being in a basketball national in Chihuahua, so he dreamed of professionalizing it in the region.

“Since I arrived in Ensenada, 18 years ago, to study and play basketball, I was surprised by the talent we have, so the dream came true with all those who joined Lobos,” said Barraza.

The athlete also said that Lobos is made for the love of basketball, where the intention is to promote a great professional project, have a competitive team and above all give priority to Ensenada.

Finally Sergio Ayala Laveaga, councilor and president of the Cabildo Sports Commission, affirmed that the City Council’s work is always to promote sports activities and to set a good example for Ensenada residents.

“It is a pride that Lobos stands out at that level, to see children and young people follow them with emotion in the games, to see them be champions and reach the top, but above all to see how they support minors with sports scholarships and encourage them to dream” he said in his message.
