Marko Pesic, managing director of the basketball team at FC Bayern, talks about the high levels of stress on his professionals, the fear of Paul Zipser, the competitive disadvantage in Germany – and how European basketball can be strengthened.

Marko Pesic, 45, was a successful basketball professional himself: he won six German championships as a player with Berlin, celebrated five cup successes and won bronze medals in 2002 and 2005 with the German national team. He played in 97 international matches for Germany . He joined FC Bayern Munich in 2011 and initially worked as the sports director of the former Bundesliga promoter. In 2013 he also took over the management in a double function, and has been the sole managing director since July 2019.
