FC Bayern Munich: New quarantine alarm: Bavaria is neglecting the corona rules! – Bundesliga

Bavaria is making the hygiene concept even stricter because of Omikron!

On November 27, the World Health Organization (WHO) classified the highly infectious omicron variant of the coronavirus as worrying. The German record champions are alarmed and have now significantly tightened the corona rules due to the current pandemic situation. Bavaria announced this on Thursday on the club’s own website.

Specifically, this means: Bavaria is now testing much more closely again, intensifying all hygiene measures. This applies in particular to the observance of distance rules, the wearing of masks or the significant reduction in contact in the area around the players. To this end, the club is in constant contact with the Munich health department.

Team doctor Prof. Dr. Roland Schmidt: “With the hygiene concept adapted to the current situation and the expanded test strategy, we want to reduce the risk of a corona infection as possible. We will also take care to reduce close contact situations away from the football field. “

According to BILD information, all players, coaches and supervisors who could have a third vaccination were boosted in the dressing room after the last first round match against Wolfsburg (4-0). Only professionals who were recently vaccinated or infected, such as Serge Gnabry (26), Jamal Musiala (18) or Joshua Kimmich (26), were not among them. ALL Bayern stars now have vaccinated or recovered status.

Prof. Dr. Schmidt: “All players, coaches and staff members for whom this was already possible received the booster vaccination. The rest of them have recovered status or have been vaccinated. “

The problem: With the Omikron variant, full vaccination protection does not save you from quarantine. Since the end of November, the Bavarian health authorities have been instructed to order a 14-day quarantine for those who have been vaccinated and those who have recovered if they have had close contact with someone infected with Omikron. The quarantine duration cannot be shortened (no free testing). An end is only possible with a negative result of a PCR test and 48 hours of symptom freedom.

On January 2nd, Bavaria will start preparing for the second half of the season – with stricter hygiene rules …
