Excellent 25th Christmas Judo Camp Bardonecchia • The News Agenda

BARDONECCHIA – Six hundred athletes divided into three working groups from all over Italy and from eleven other nations, took part in the 25th Christmas Judo Camp Bardonecchia, internship with logistic base at the Olympic Village and training gym in the renovated Sports Hall, specially equipped for the occasion with a 900 sq m tatami. Sports event with positive effects on tourism organized in full compliance with the COVID-19 anti-pandemic regulations and its three variants by CRS AKIYAMA in Settimo Torinese, with the patronage of the Piedmont Region-Regional Council, the Civic Administration, the Tourist Consortium of Bardonecchia and of the CR Piemonte Italian Federation of Judo, Fight, Karate and Martial Arts (Fijlkam), chaired by the Bardonecchiese Roberto Borgis.

Tuesday 28th December Vittorio Montabone, vice-mayor of Bardonecchia brought the greetings of the Civic Administration, expressing appreciation to the organizers for the tenacity of organizing this event for the 25th year. The president of CR Piemonte Fabrizio Marchetti thanked the athletes and technicians for their willingness to continue training even in this particular moment. Maria Grazia Perucci, FIJLKAM director of the judo sector, stressed that the organization of these events, following all the safety checks, is what it takes to continue hoping to be able to start working normally again.

On the mat for three days, the interns compared each other in turn on the various techniques of judo, a highly formative sport, demonstrated by a qualified group of masters, former athletes, several times winners of European and World Championships and Olympic medals, starting with the Giorgians. Varlam Liparteliani e Avtandili Tchrikishvili, current number 1 in the world e Fabio Basile, in his kimono edged with the name embroidered in gold, exclusive to the winners of an Olympic gold medal who also confronted and challenged anyone regardless of weight.
