Evan Fournier scores 32 points with the New York Knicks

The New York Knicks lost to the Boston Celtics (114-107) on Saturday, but they could count on an excellent Evan Fournier, author of 32 points (13/24 shooting including 4/10 three points). The French full-back has thus equaled the best performance of his career in the NBA.

Curious coincidence: against the same Celtics, Fournier had already split 32 points on October 21, in the first game of the season in NY. This time, the Knicks had won (138-134 AD). This is the fourth time in his career that Evan Fournier has slammed 32 points in the NBA. He had already achieved such a performance in January 2018 then in December 2019, when he played for the Orlando Magic.

Fournier was in arrears during the month of December. He had chained five consecutive games with less than 10 points, following the pace of the Knicks, who could not win. Then the French woke up Thursday against the Houston Rockets (116-103 victory), scoring 23 points.

Saturday, against Boston, Fournier completed his record with five rebounds, three assists and two steals.

Gobert shines against and Batum at three points

Three other French were playing on Saturday. Rudy Gobert signed a new double-double with Utah Jazz (11 points, 19 rebounds). But he was also beaten, by the Washington Wizards (109-103). Gobert also stood out with six blocks, his best performance of the season.

Nicolas Batum, he scored 12 points with the Los Angeles Clippers, only on three-point shots (4/6). But he too bowed. The Clippers, who were notably deprived of Paul George, hit in an elbow, (in addition to Leonard and Ibaka) were beaten by the Oklahoma City Thunder (104-103), yet dead last in the Western Conference.

With 33 seconds remaining, Batum slammed one of his shots, which saw LA lead 101-97. But the Thunder managed to catch up and, 0.99 from the buzzer, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander scored the decisive shot to win OKC.

Earlier in the evening, Killian Hayes and the Detroit Pistons had lost to the Houston Rockets (116-107), chaining a 14th loss in a row. Hayes scored eight points and provided 10 assists.
